NOOSA COAST CARE
Nurturing Noosa's Eastern Beaches and Nature Reserves
Asparagus ferns removed
Our bush carers have manually removed over 250,000 crowns of this invasive weed from the beach reserve.

Our Aims
We protect and conserve the natural values of Noosa’s Coastal Reserves and adjacent bushland reserves.
By planting natives and through targeted weeding we support the preservation of the area’s biodiversity.
We encourage active participation of the community, natural resource managers and government bodies to support our aims.
Our work regenerates and preserves the fragile dunes of Noosa’s Eastern beaches
By regenerating the natural habitat of the dunes we aim to mitigate erosion and provide increased resilience to the impacts of climate change.
How You Can Help

Our Initiatives & Projects
From rigorous scientific research trials on our coastal dunes to over a decade of community-led creek regeneration, explore how our targeted conservation projects are protecting and restoring Noosa’s unique ecosystems.

Research project
Noosa Coast Care is running a rigorous community science project to find the best way to beat one of our dune ecosystem’s most destructive weeds.
OUR GOAL: To determine whether manual removal or herbicide treatment is more effective in controlling Asparagus Fern, and use the findings to guide best-practice weed management across our coastline.

Peregian Creek
From one volunteer with a vision to more than a decade of restoration, the Peregian Creek and Beach Access 48 rehabilitation project has transformed weed-infested dunes into thriving coastal habitat—one native plant, one working bee and one community effort at a time.
OUR GOAL: Creating a healthier Peregian Creek—where native plants, wildlife and people can thrive together.
